In a recent episode of Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Dinner’s On Me podcast, a mini Modern Family reunion took place as he welcomed Sofia Vergara. While reminiscing about the emotional farewell to their beloved show after its 11-year run, Ferguson and Vergara shared amusing anecdotes about their co-star Ed O’Neill.

Despite the challenges of wrapping up the series during the pandemic, Ferguson and Vergara admitted they hadn’t seen each other for two years following the finale. However, they revealed that Ed O’Neill, who relocated to Hawaii, made his presence felt in their lives in unexpected ways.

Ferguson chuckled as he recounted how O’Neill would randomly call him. Vergara concurred, sharing her own experiences of receiving spontaneous calls from their co-star.

The humor continued as Ferguson described how O’Neill’s accidental FaceTime calls would often result in amusing interactions, with Ferguson finding himself staring at the side of O’Neill’s house.

Vergara chimed in, revealing that O’Neill also mistakenly left her messages intended for his daughter Sophia. Confusion ensued initially, with Vergara puzzled by the messages addressed to “Sophia, it’s dad,” until she realized they were meant for O’Neill’s daughter, not her.

The camaraderie and laughter shared by the Modern Family cast off-screen mirror the warmth and humor of their on-screen relationships, providing fans with a delightful glimpse behind the scenes of the beloved sitcom.
