Prymrr was born in the heat of California with the urge to make it huge in music. From the moment she could walk, she was drawn toward everything musical and artistic. Growing up, her passion intensified, and since then, this exceptionally talented girl has never looked back. The innate talent for music as she grew up caught everyone’s attention in the music industry, with several promoters contacting her for diverse work, like opening for Nicki Minaj, Future, and Tekashi 69 at only 12-year-old. Prymrr’s journey from performing at local venues to headlining larger venues along the West Coast with artists such as Silento, and culminating in her six headlining performances at the Alien Stock Festival, is a testament to her growth and achievements. Her headlining performances are now the focus of a new documentary on RAW, set to be released on Netflix, further cementing her status as a rising star in the music industry.
Prymrr is a one-of-a-kind recording artist who is known for her heartfelt, reflective, and personal lyrics and is also equally praised for her vulnerability, pioneering a unique sound that has broken down boundaries so far in her career, even as a young musical artist, allowing her to defy the expectations of society. Since she began writing and recording music at a young age, she would also test equipment and rap styles early at the Eastside studio at the Boys and Girls Club. Growing up in an artistically inclined family led her to start dancing at two and playing instruments at eight. Her ever-changing approach to rap and music has also helped her stand apart from the rest of the industry.
Taking inspiration from artists like Eminem, Tupac, Snoop Dog, Logic, Lil Peep, Snow the Product, and Mac Miller, she was especially drawn to hip-hop music and began performing rap at local venues as a 12-year-old. Even when the NickiHndrxx tour, the US leg, got cancelled, Prymrr still attracted attention in the music industry, with several top-notch producers waiting to work with her and offering to sign her to a label. But, as she always stood out with her songs, she also wanted to stand out with her way of working in the industry by not getting whisked away by a label. To bond with her fans, she honed her skills as a rapper and grew her unique musical artistry to remain her truest self in an industry that often would want artists, especially female rappers, molded into a persona that is not themselves. This led her to drop her single “No Label” an anthem to her independence. Seems she will always find ways to be herself with her smooth sound and witty lyrics, and she strongly believes that whichever direction she chooses, her loyal fan base will follow.
The fire within her today has helped her climb ladders of success as a rapper, dancer, actor, model, and singer, who in 2018 debuted with her single GAMBLiN, showcasing her skills as a rapper and lyricist. With the single, she also released its music video set in her hometown and starring her grandfather to gain momentum in her discography successfully. With time, her unique flow and authentic lyrics resonated with her fans and listeners, and this further encouraged her to release her other hit tracks, such as “Take Over,” “No Label,” “MON$T3R$,” “WYA,” and “Whodie”. Blending different music genres in her sound palette of hip-hop, she excelled in building an album during the pandemic when everything was at a standstill.
